Irfan Meclisi

İrfan meclisine erişebilsen
Varıp anlar ile görüşebilsen, Hay Hay.
Varıp anlar ile görüşebilsen…

Aşkın kervanına karışabilsen,
Yolda bırakmazlar alırlar seni, Hay Hay.
Yolda bırakmazlar alırlar seni…

Hazreti Nureddin, Aşkın rehberi,
Atıf dervişlerin edna kemteri, Hay Hay.
Atıf dervişlerin edna kemteri…

Gelirsen demezler gelme dön geri,
Kapıdan savmazlar, alırlar seni, Hay Hay.
Kapıdan savmazlar, alırlar seni…

Assembly of the Ones with Divine Wisdom

If only you could reach the assembly of the ones with divine wisdom,
If only you could get there and speak with them, Hay Hay
If only you could get there and speak with them

If only you could join the caravan of love,
They will not leave you behind but take you in, Hay Hay
They will not leave you behind but take you in

Hadrat Nureddin, He is the guide to love
Atıf is the poorest of the poor among dervishes
Atıf is the poorest of the poor among dervishes

If you reach there, they will not dismiss you
They will not turn you away but take you in, Hay Hay
They will not turn you away but take you in

Notes:

TurguEf :This ilāhī is “İrfan meclisine erişebilsen” in the maqām acemaşîrân or ushshāq (Even the recording in the link -- the acemaşîrân version -- has the wrong words). It should be “İrfan meclisine erişebilsen / Varıp anlar ile görüşebilsen / Aşkın kervanına karışabilsen / Yolda bırakmazlar, alırlar seni” (I wish you could find the gathering of ‘irfān / I wish you could attain it and meet its residents / I wish you could join the caravan of love / They would not leave you behind on the road, they would take you onboard). Each one of the lines is an address to the second person singular. For years before that, however, we sang it ( ... erişebilsem / ... görüşebilsem / ... karışabilsem...) “I wish I could...” whereas this was clearly in conflict with the last line, which has always been the same. A brother brought this to Efendi’s attention, and he ordered that it be corrected immediately.
